I just LOVE this series. It has all the elements of a great cozy; an endearing heroine/hero, outrageous characters, mild romance, unique locale and a mystery. The premise of a town made of a bunch of good folks hiding from the authorities who are all redheads with one of two names in the middle of nowhere Manitoba who keep running into trouble is fantastic. Points West sees the total conversion of Mountie Goodhead and the return of some familiar faces. If you want a fun, easy to read story that will leave you begging for more, THIS IS IT.

I love these books. I love Butterscotch and Chuck. I read a lot of books. But I've never read one where the characters had a funeral for a hand (in a jewelry box with six pallbearers). Melanie has a strange sense if humor and I hope it never stops!

I've really enjoyed this series from the first book on. And I agree the books are getting even better as time goes on. This book is short, and it's obvious the next one is coming. There is less distance between books by this author, both in plot and publication date, than one would expect from mainstream publication houses. It's almost like a serial where each installment is a novella. I like this author, I like this series, and I like this book.

...and I'm glad! I really like this series. How can you not like characters the likes of "the Wings, the Flowers, Big John, Sasha, the Bones, and of course Butterscotch Jones?" There are others too, and each story segues into the next with a perfect flow.

Honestly, there's something about her writing that I love. I do read a lot of heavier mysteries, but I usually crave a Melanie Jackson every few months or so. I also like how all of her series differ in tone and characters. One wish? Please make the books longer! I hate when they end so quickly.

I don't have red hair but enjoyed the characters in this book and there were many varieties to choose from!

I really like Butterscotch, the Mountie and the Gulch. These are really great stories, and I wish I had the imagination to write publishable books!

The Bush Pilot could read the good from the bad, he definitely gave them the ride they deserved. Good reading

Another seriously hilarious Adventure in the Canadian wilderness! It doesn't really matter that this is a shorter story, because it's well written.

5.0 out of 5 stars I don't do book reviews......

I don't do book reviews like you keep seeing, as I find that some give too much of the plot away and I personally hate that, as it makes the book not worth reading. I much prefer to take the authors back cover write up as a review as it can either intrigue you enough to read the book of provide you enough information to make you decide that the book is not for you.
My review rules are: The more stars, the more I liked it.
If there are too many typos or errors the less stars I give
If the storyline or plot is poor or contains too many errors, the characters are too weak, the ending lacking something, then the less stars I give.
Simple, uncomplicated and to the point without giving anything away.
Some of the books I read have been given to me by the author as a pre-release copy and this does not bias my reviews in any way.
